Understanding Our Economic Position

The economic situation facing Americans of African Descent communities represents both a challenge and an opportunity:

  • $1.8 TRILLION: Annual buying power of Black Americans

  • 98%: Percentage that leaves Black communities ($1.764 trillion annually)

  • 30%: Homeownership gap between Black and White Americans

This massive economic leakage flows to:

  • China: $439 Billion (electronics, apparel, toys, home goods)

  • Europe: $300 Billion (luxury fashion, cosmetics, automotive)

  • Other regions: Vietnam/Bangladesh/India (clothing, textiles) and Mexico/Canada (vehicles, petroleum)

Through strategic redirection of this buying power, we can transform economic leakage into community wealth.

Empowering Communities
for a Brighter Future
